Roof insulation install in our current Lake Muskoka cottage build. The great room structure is timber frame with Douglas fir ceiling decking on top. Picture shows us insulating from the top prior to roof sheathing and shingles. The roof insulation is the BIBS system providing an R60 value and a 3-inch air space for venting.

Part of a well designed cottage or home is making the outside an extension of the inside and vice versa. You are more likely to enjoy these 'outdoor rooms' if they are directly connected to the interior spaces and if they are sized for conversation. We look forward to starting a design conversation.
