YWCA Muskoka envisions a future in which all women and girls are thriving.
YWCA Muskoka focuses on delivering quality programs and services that:
• Prevent violence, particularly against women and girls;
• Reduce the impact of poverty;
• Advocate on issues that affect women and girls;
• Provide leadership on issues that affect older women; and
• Enhance our organizational capacity.
All of this will be done while building bridges of connection with women throughout Muskoka
For over 15 years, YWCA Muskoka has delivered Girlz Unplugged programs through schools and as summer day programs for girls ages 9 to 13; and Women in Business programs to women who are interested in self-employment opportunities. In 2018, YWCA Muskoka is also running a Women’s Winter Wellness series; workshops for senior women on art and health; and offers drop in services such as coaching, lifeskills training, meditation, and yoga. Youth programs have expanded to include: Girlz Choice and Quest programs for youth in secondary schools; the Youth Social Action Council (15 – 30 yrs) and girls summer programs: Girlz Unplugged Summer and Girlspace Leadership. In March, we celebrate International Women’s Day with a focus on celebrating Women in the Arts. In the past, we have hosted a Women in Arts Festival and created the 150 Faces Art Exhibition. Every October, we host the Women of Distinction Awards to celebrate leaders, trailblazers, and role-models in our community.
