Simpler Times is a summer store nestled in the tiny town of Bala, Ontario, in the heart of Muskoka’s cottage country. We’re located in the Burgess Church, a designated historical  old stone church at the Bala Falls, on a tiny island right in the middle of town, surrounded by the rush of water pouring from Lake Muskoka into the Moon River.  Highway 169 runs right past our door, bringing cottagers, tourists and day-trippers from far and wide.

 

For several years now we have been bringing in an eclectic mix of new gift and home décor items and mixing them with vintage furniture and lamps which we refurbish, paint and distress to provide our customers with a wide range of products for their own use or for gift giving. We have built a reputation for fair pricing, unusual one-of-a-kind home décor and a truly unique shopping experience.
