• Leatherjackets, larvae are found in lawns in spring and summer

• Larvae must be treated to prevent damage to lawns
• Larvae may be found after a rain - washed onto sidewalks and driveways
• Skunks and raccoons will leave holes in your lawn as they dig out these succulent treats
• Adult Crane Flies are seen in late August and September
• They lay eggs in September on sunny walls and fences
• Adults resemble giant mosquitoes - harmless but a nuisance at this stage
• Adults are harder to control
• Crane flies are treated in August - October
